Andrew Bicknell asked:

There are many reasons you may want to do a search of public records in Alabama. Maybe you are considering hiring a nanny or daycare provider for your kids and you are concerned about their safety, or you’re entering into a business deal with someone you don’t know much about, or that you’re interested in the background of someone you met through an online dating or chat site. There are literally too many reasons to list here but learning about someone’s past can give you a certain peace of mind.

You have several choices when it comes to finding public records, some of which work better then the others. Your first choice is to visit the local court house, library, or government agency office where publicly available records are kept. You can put in a request for a records search which may take several days, and may or may not garner the results you want.

One way to make this method of public records search achieve better success is to hire a private investigator. They know the ins and outs of public records investigations, who to talk to, and the best methods for finding the information their clients are looking for. The only caveat with using a P.I. is cost. They normally charge by the hour and it can add up quickly if their investigation takes longer then originally thought.

What many people fail to realize when they first start doing a public records Alabama search is the sheer number of locations one would have to consider looking at to find all the pertinent background information about an individual. Consider there are sixty seven counties in the state of Alabama alone, each with its own court house, and when you add in all the municipal, district, and circuit courts you can see that finding publicly available information could take quite a bit of time and effort.

Now days as more and more states computerize their public records databases it is becoming easier for the average person to find and use these records for different purposes. Some of the same problems occur with these computerized databases because they also tend to be located at different locations and while many are interconnected via the internet you may not always get a complete records download for the person or people you are interested in.

Fortunately there are now public records search websites that have gone out and catalogued all the public records databases for you. With little more then a name and place of residence you can do not only a public records Alabama search you can also search records nationwide with the click of your mouse.

WARDEN

Doug G White asked:

Court Records: How to view public records and court records online

Are you a landlord pondering on the decision to let the new tenant applicant live in your building? Or are you perhaps a business wondering about the credentials of a new supplier? If you are wondering if anyone of concern has a disconcerting history, then accessing public court records could be your answer. Access to these records has now become easier than ever before, and you can obtain a wealth of information about anyone in the country, including criminal records, driving records, divorce records, and pretty much any other court record. You can obtain any information about someone that had anything to do with the law! Access to these records can be obtained through various methods.

All arrest and criminal records are processed by the local law enforcement (Police), they are then sent to the courts for processing then after that they are documented in the State – at this point they become publically available. Because these records are documented in this way, it means that criminal records, court records, divorce records, driving records and various other public records all form part of the public documentation, and are used to provide background checks.

It is important to remember though that full court records are never made available to the public, especially in high profile cases. You would most typically be able to obtain case summaries and dates for civil cases and small cases with no problems. Also note that the more information you have about the person or case from which you want information, the easier it will be to obtain such information.

A lot of the court records are now stored on websites, which makes your good old search engine a good place to start. Search engines will pick up keyword rich content, it may be a very time consuming process but the data you get will undoubtedly be very efficient and accurate. Remember though that not all records are stored in this way, and that this method will not work if the case is multi-jurisdictional (Involves more than one state, town, or city)

There is however specialized people search engines available online, such as Net Detective. These companies have access to the entire nation’s court databases and provide the same access to you in a user friendly interface for a small fee. These services are very thorough and add literally hundreds of new cases and verdicts to their databases every single day. Thanks to the development of the internet and these specialized companies, we now have access to information that was very difficult (and expensive) to come by in the past.

There are various reason why a person may want to access such information on court records on a nation-wide scale, reasons of which may be beyond legal research. These kinds of court records can be obtained to help in the development of a new business, or an established business could use the information in court records to do a background check of a potential employee. You can even use court records to gain a profile for a particular attorney or judge. But most importantly, these public records may be accessed as a background check for personal use.

Have you recently met a new friend that seems a little “off”? Or are you a landlord looking for new tenants. Or maybe you might be a business looking for information on a new supplier? What ever the use, public records such as court records, driving records, criminal backgrounds etc… can provide you with a wealth of information about anyone in the country.

If this kind of information is what you are looking for, read this article and learn how to obtain it.

BARBOSA

Amit Mehta asked:

Court records are the results of taking a case to court or a judicial proceeding. A court record does not only refer to the actual document that records the events that took place during the legal proceeding but also to any other information that may have been collected or accepted in line with it. The clerk of court is usually the one tasked with keeping court records.

So why would anyone want to access court records? Let us count the ways.

Since some court proceedings are not open to the public or may be difficult to attend for most individuals who work during the day, court records are the next best thing. Those who take a special interest in researching their own genealogy have also used court proceedings as a way of finding ancestors and getting in touch with their roots. The extensiveness of court proceedings, regardless of time or place, has also made them of particular interest for those who have a special fascination with history. Court records of old cases are usually utilized by lawyers and legal assistants to serve as a basis or precedent for their current court cases.

Court Records – The Online Access Debate

Most recently, there has been some heated debate as to whether court records should continue to be made available online or not. Those who agree promote the fact that it will be a great service to people who have a great need for court proceedings; those who don’t argue that offering court records easily online promotes identity theft and shows no respect for the privacy of the individuals involved in the court cases. In criminal cases, for instance, there is the risk of putting people’s lives in danger (e.g., jury members, witnesses, etc.) if their addresses and phone numbers were revealed.

On the other hand, many believe that court proceedings should be placed online because this is the best way of allowing the public to see how the legal system works. The judicial system stands for the implementation of justice and checks and balances should be in place to ensure that this tradition and responsibility is continually upheld. If there is information in court records that should be kept secure and confidential, this should be filtered accordingly.

One advise is to differentiate online court proceedings from people searches (because someone deliberately looking to ruin another can easily do so via court records). As a result, the court records should be made available not through the search of the name of a person but through other specific details that have to do with legal proceedings.

Although there is still a long way to go in terms of providing limits and restraints on how court proceedings are acquired by the general public, by far the strongest argument has been in favor of continuing to allow these to be placed online.

Are you one of those in need of court records? If so, you don’t need to wait for the result of this ‘debate’ because many court proceedings are indeed accessible online today. Most online sources will require a membership before you can search their databases while others will allow you to conduct a search first; and if you are keen on viewing the court records on the results page, then you can pay for access then.

GRAY

Amit Mehta asked:

Did you know that there is a way to access information about the people that you deal with everyday? Whether you want to know more about the person you are considering going into business with, a company you want to work for, or even someone you would like to date, a search through public court records can turn up valuable information.

If you are considering a business partnership with an individual or even a corporation, a search through public court records can provide you with the information you need to make wise decisions. Public court records can show you if the individual has been involved in any lawsuits. This information is invaluable when it comes to learning about the business dealings and even the integrity of the person you are thinking about partnering with. Public court records can also show if there are any liens or judgments against the individual that might cause you to reconsider a partnership. Having the information contained in public court records can help you to determine if proposed business partnership is the best course of action for you.

If you are considering leaving a secure job to go to work for a small rather unknown company, having a look at public court records can help you to know if it is a good idea. Public court records can show you if the company has been sued and if so what the outcome of the lawsuit was. You can research whether the company has ever filed for bankruptcy or had tax issues. Public court records can even give you information about the owners of the company. By using the information found in public court records, you can learn about the companies past dealings and make a reasonable and informed decision about changing jobs.

In today’s world, you have to be so careful about personal safety. It is hard to trust that the person you met online or at a bar is everything that they say they are. The newspapers constantly turn up stories of love gone bad, making you wonder if the people would have even been together if they had known everything there was to know about each other. Through public court records, you can find out if the person you met at a party last week has a criminal record. By researching public court records, you can learn if they have ever been arrested or even sued. You can even find out if the new guy at the office is divorced or how many failed marriages he has had. With a perusal through public court records, you can even learn how much of his paycheck is going to support his ex-wife.

Public court records are valuable sources of information that can help you not only in business, but in your personal life as well.

HURST

Andrew Bicknell asked:

Doing a Texas court records search the old fashioned way can be an overwhelming task. In the past you would have had to request by filling out the required paper work and submitting it to those court jurisdictions where the person in question may have made a court appearance. Considering there are 254 counties in the state of Texas each with its own courthouse you can see why these types of record searches used to take a lot of time. And when you factor in all the state and federal courts it gets even harder.

Upon putting in a request for court records to be pulled an employee of the court known as a court retriever would begin the search. It normally takes them around 72 hours to find the pertinent records, if they exist. This can be quite frustrating and is not a good use of time or energy.

Many times those who wished to do a criminal records background check would hire a private investigator. They know the ins and outs of conducting records searches and can use the system to their advantage. Unfortunately there is a price to be paid for this type of service which can be more then the average person can afford.

With the advent of the internet and websites that specialize in background checks in the state of Texas this is no longer the case. You can now access and search court records state wide from federal, state, county, and city criminal databases right on your own computer at a fraction of the cost of hiring a private investigator. In fact many PI’s are probably using these same resources.

This new found ability to run background checks quickly and easily is a great boon for just about everyone. Small businesses and individuals can look up and do criminal record checks on prospective new employees, check up on their child’s daycare provider, see if that online dating prospect is who they really say they are, and do a check against just about anyone they are in daily contact with.

You also do not have to worry about leaving a traceable trail when using one of these online records services. You will remain completely anonymous when you do a search query on an individual. The only time you would need to reveal the outcome of your records search is when you need to reveal the truth you have found, if need be.

MCFADDEN

Rose Quadee asked:

Are you looking for information on finding free death records online? There are many different reasons why you might want to look for free death records. A very popular reason many people choose for doing this is to find out more about their family history. They may search to do a family tree or to track their genealogy.

Whatever the reasons you have for finding free death records online, it’s important to understand that this can be done quicker and easier than ever before. You can find important vital records such as the death history of someone or a family from the Internet. In the past, it wouldn’t have been so easy to track down these death records.

If you know where the person died, you could go to the local government in that state or records-keeping courthouse to public records on the person. This will typically be the most accurate method of finding death records and in the past, this was pretty much the only method. That is not true anymore today.

Now if you have a computer with an Internet connection, you can begin finding free death records of almost anyone to have ever died in the United States. Laws dictate that these records must be filed and kept in regards to deaths of people in this country. The records are also available to the public if you know how and where to look for them. Only in rare cases are the death records sealed by the courts, sometimes for the protection of the family.

The exact amount of information listed in the death record may vary depending on the state. There is also different information that you will find depending on which service you use to get the death record. Some databases will only give you a certain amount of information for free and then you will need to pay a fee of some sort to obtain the rest of the information in the report.

So what are some things you can find in this death record? Usually you will get the date of death, date of birth, obituary/death notice, cemetery location, records of spouses, records of other family members, cause of death, death certificate, funeral records, genealogy database and more. The best part is that you can often get all of this information for free online and in just a short amount of time. All you need to know is the name and state of the person you are looking for.

If you don’t know the state of death, you can always search nationwide but if multiple results come up, it might be more difficult to narrow down which ones are the right ones for you without having more information. The more info you have, the better but you can still do a search with no more than a name.

Internet databases are now becoming the most common method of searching for these types of public records. They are quick, easy and accurate and all can be found from your home computer with ease.

BEATTIE

Andrew Bicknell asked:

Trying to find Oklahoma court records is easier then it used to be. Before internet records sites came along finding out if someone had a criminal record would require trips to different court houses where you would have to fill out different forms to request this data. Criminal background checks were the domain of private investigators who could charge a premium price to do the work for you.

Now with the power of the internet this is no longer true. You can find all the same data without ever leaving your home. Websites that specialize in background data checks will give you instant access to online court records databases not only in the state of Oklahoma but also nationwide.

With the information provided you can do a comprehensive background check on who ever you wish. Prospective employees, someone who’s going to be working in your home, a fledgling love interest, or anyone else, you can look into their background and see if they have a past conviction that could be a cause for concern.

The records you will have access to are considered to be in the public domain. That means that anyone has a right to look at them without the worry of violating someone’s privacy. Any search query you do is also completely anonymous so you don’t have to worry about anyone finding out about it. That is unless you want them to know what you have found out about them.

These state criminal records websites will allow you instantaneous access to their database, allowing you to do court records searches quickly and easily. All you need to start your inquiry is the persons name and the state they live in. You simply enter their personal data into the proper look up boxes and hit the “Search” button. In a matter of seconds you will have all the available court and public records appear across your screen.

In addition to Oklahoma courts records you will also have access to state civil and legal judgments, bankruptcy records at both the state and national levels, federal and state criminal history and arrest records, state tax liens, arrest warrants, and state property records. Having access to this kind of information about people’s backgrounds can make personal decisions about the people who are in contact with you and your family on a daily basis much easier.

WEAVER
